Yes, WoW is an infinitely superior experience. I can solo, I can group, I can play for short periods, I can play for hours at a time... it's well worth it to switch. I very rarely feel like I'm just standing around in WoW.
However, standing around in WoW has it's moments of hilarity. Warcraft rewards you for playing the game... all other MMOs torture and punish you and expect you to keep playing to finally in the hopes of getting "X" in the end. WoW gives you "X" right away and then throws the rest of the alphabet at you when you least expect it.
